Everest three high passes trek is a famous and adventurous trek in the Himalayan country Nepal, which covers trekking over Kongma La Pass (5,535 m), Cho La Pass (5,420 m), and Renjo La Pass (5,340 m)—the three high passes in the Everest region. This trek is filled with the blend of adventure, spectacular vistas, cultural exposures, and taste of rural and remote settlements. This 20 days amazing trek begins from the beautiful Lukla, through Namche Bazar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Chhukung, and Lobuche, and reach to the Everest Base Camp, and returning via Dzongla, Gokyo, Marlung, all the way to Lukla again, walking for 6-8 hours every day on an average. The trek route also includes the beautiful Sherpa village along with the beautiful Nangpa La Valley. The place offers the ultimate and complete trekking experience in the Everest region of Nepal.
It is one of the most famous and adventurous treks in the Everest region, and let you have a sightseeing view of the Khumbu region. You need to rest in between due to the high altitude of three pass trek. Complex topography may sometime cause altitude sickness, however, the beautiful scenario will easily compensate for it. During the trek, you can take hygienic food and clean water.

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal. Our representative will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and drop you at your hotel, where you can do some rest and relax. You can do some shopping for your further trek. In the evening, you can enjoy welcome dinner with our whole team.

Day 2: Sightseeing at Kathmandu
As morning rises, after early breakfast, we will manage you to visit major world heritage sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred site for Hindu and Buddhist. Syambhunath temple famous for sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley, Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square, and largest Boudhanath Stupa through the world. In the evening, you need to be well prepared for the next day trek. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Flight to Lukla/Trek to Phakding(2,562 m)
Next day, early in the morning after having breakfast, you will head towards Lukla, as you reach to Lukla, we will begin our official trek towards Phakding.   We will have a trek gentle ascent and descent through the beautiful dense forest, which leads you to the Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)
In this day, after having breakfast, we will continue our trail along the Dudh Koshi River by crossing several beautiful suspension bridges, through forest rich in rhododendron and pine, we shall pass through villages like Benkar, Chimoa, Monjo, and Jorsole. Then after the permit checking spot, you need to ascend uphill and cross the Tenzing Hillary Suspension Bridge. Again, walking through the pine forest for about 3 hours you will arrive at Namche Bazar. Overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 5: Acclimatization’s day at Namche Bazar (3,440 m)
Today we will spend the whole day at Namche Bazaar. After breakfast, you can visit Everest National Park and the Sherpa museum that consists the history of Sherpa inhabitants and their traditional culture. You might also want to visit the nearby valley, the Khumjung Monastery, Everest View Hotel, and Hillary School. You can also want to withdraw some money from the ATM, which can’t be available in our further trek. Overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche(3,870 m)
In this day, after having breakfast, we will continue our trek from Phunki Thanga, you will climb uphill to Tengboche. On the way to the Tengboche, you can witness water driver prayer wheels while descending down to the Dudh Koshi River. There you will get chances to Cross the suspension bridge, and after 2 hours ascend trail will take us to the Tengboche. Village, famous for the largest number of monasteries in the Everest region. Stay overnight at Tengboche.

 
Day 7: To Dingboche(4,360 m)
From Tengboche, we will continue our trail through Mani Walls and Chortens until you will arrive at the Debuche Village. You will cross the Imja Khola over the suspension bridge and climb uphill to Pangboche. Then through Imja Valley, junction of Lobuche River, you will come to the village Dingboche, where the growing barleys are surrounded by stone walls. Overnight at Dingboche.

Day 8: To Chhukung(4,750 m ) to Chhukung Ri(5,546 m)
You will trek through the glacier moraines after you leave the Imja Khola Valley. Through Bibre, icy streams, you will reach to Chhukung after 45 minutes trek. Then you need to trek towards the Chhukung Ri. The top of the peak offers you the incredible view of Amphu Labcha Peak, and Mt. Ama Dablam and many more. Overnight at Chhukung.

Day 9: At Chhukung(4,750 m)
In this day, after having breakfast, we will continue our trek to explore the Chhukung. You will make your step towards the three passes, and visit the beautiful Imja Lake, Lhotse Glacier, and climb to Island Peak Base Camp (4,970 m). From here, if you see to the north, you will witness the magnificent views of Lhotse towers, Amphu Lapcha in the south, and Mt. Ama Dablam in the east. Stay overnight at Chhukung.

Day 10: To Kongma La Pass (5,535 m)/Lobuche
Today we need to choose the way, as we find two ways to reach Kongma La Pass: hilly trail northwest to the Chuukung through moraines of Nuptse Glacier, or trek from Bibre. The trail is stony as you ascend from the east of Niyang Khola Valley. Through frozen lakes, rubble you will reach the top of the Kongma La Pass—the highest pass in the entire trek. From this highest pass, we can have a stunning mountain vista. After exploring the peak we will again descend down to Lobuche and stay overnight at Lobuche.


Day 11: To Gorakshep(5,170 m ) to Everest Base Camp( 5,364 m ) to Gorakshep
In this day, the trail will be in the rocky and windy over the ridge; we will climb a moderate uphill until we reach to Thangma Riju. Further ascending steep trail through Changri Glacier, will take us to the Gorakshep. Then, again through moraines, rocky dunes, we will reach the Everest Base Camp. After the afternoon light starts to weaken, you shall return back to Gorakshep. Stay overnight at Gorakshep.

Day 12: To Kalapatthar(5,545 m) – Gorakshep –Dzongla(4,830 m)
Early in the morning, after having breakfast, we will continue our trek towards  Kalapatthar. The top of the Kalapatthar offers spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Lingtren, Lhotse, Pumori, etc. The most important of this early haste is to view the Everest with the golden glow of the sun in its body. After you explore Kala Patthar, we will return back to Gorakshep, and from there we will head towards – Dzongla through the Khumbu Glacier. As the trail branches into two, we will take the right one and pass through tombstones and stupas. Then we will ascend up with the beautiful view of Cho La Lake. We will descend and ascend throughout our trek to the basin and reach to Dzongla by crossing a beautiful bridge. Stay overnight at Dzongla.

Day 13: To Cho La Pass (5,368 m) / To Thangna (4650m)
Today’s trail is quite tough as we will ascent with boulders that giving us no choice other than to scramble at some places. The trail will lead us to Cho La Pass which is twisting around a crevasse. The top of the Cho La Pass offers us the incredible view of the phenomenal scene. This might be one of the places you do not want to miss snapping some pictures out. Then after exploration, you will head towards Thangna, which is situated at the altitude of 4650m. We shall descend to Thangnak, come at a different side of Ngozumpa Glacier. Overnight at Thangna.

Day 14: Gokyo (4,800 m)
Today you will leave Thangna and continue our trek towards Gokyo, which is situated at the elevations of 4800m. we can enjoy the scenic surrounds of Gokyo lake and the further trek will take us to the beside Gokyo Lake, which is our today's destination. Overnight at Gokyo.

Day 15: Rest day at Gokyo Ri (4,800 m) to Gogimba Glacier to forth lake
After a pleasing night at Gokyo, we will have a breakfast, we will spend a whole day to explore the Gokyo Ri, and visit Gokyo Lake, and 'Scoundrel's Viewpoint' which is situated at the end of a lake. From here, you might view Mt. Makalu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Gyachung Kang, Cho Oyu, and the Everest. After exploring we will trek to Gogimba Glacier to explore the forth lake. Then return back to Gokyo Ri and stay overnight at Gokyo Ri.

Day 16: To Renjo La Pass (5,360 m) to Marlung(4,210 m)
In this day, we need to trek a long distance to reach our today's destination. We will begin our trek from beside Dudh Pokhari Lake and descend down for around two hours to reach Renjo La Pass. Descending further down through the stone staircase, you will reach to Angladumba Tsho Lake. Down, absorbing the breathtaking views, through Lumde, and we will finally, reach to Marlung. Stay overnight at Marlung.

Day 17: To Namche Bazar (3,440 m)
Today, after morning breakfast, we will follow an ancient route used by traders, we will descend down to Thame from Marlung and arrive at Taranga by crossing the Bhote Koshi River. Further, descend trail will let you cross 2 beautiful bridges and reach to Thame. Descending through small settlements you will arrive at Namche Bazar. Stay overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 18: To Phakding/Lukla
Today, we will trek down to Lukla through the rhododendron forest to the valley floor to follow the Dudh Koshi downhill and then we will trek out of the national park to the village of Phakding. In this way, we will finish our exhilarating journey. Overnight at Lukla.

Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu
This morning, we will take a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Around 30 minutes flight once offers us thrilling flight over forests, fields and beautiful settlements with the Himalayas in the background, in the evening you will enjoy Farewell Dinner. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 20: At Kathmandu
A leisure day in Kathmandu which can be used for exploring. You can visit holy temples like Pashupatinath, Swyambhunath and many more. And in the evening. You can enjoy farewell dinner with Nepalis cultural program.

Day 21: Departure
Today will be your final day in Nepal, it is time to fly back to your home keeping all the exhilarating experiences of Nepal in mind. Our representative will help you to find your destination.

Trekking equipments
The main essentials to bring are:
  • Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots, flip-flops
  • Sleeping bag (depending on your accommodation) and -20 degree Celsius for colder regions
  • Daypack, trekking bag pack, dry sack and camera bag
  • Few changes of clothes for the varying temperatures
  • For cold weather, hiking pants, thermals, gloves, neck warmer/scarf, beanie, a warm inner jacket and a windproof / waterproof outer jacket and down jacket are essential.
  • Water purification supplies, a reusable water bottle and a camelback water bladder
  • Sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses, moisturizing skin cream and lip balm
  • Few snacks, granola bars
  • Hiking stick or two
  • Waterproof case, fabric bandages such as moleskin, a headlamp, altitude sickness and other medication

On the popular trekking routes, everyday supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, chocolate bars, and even basic hiking supplies can be purchased along the way, though prices rise dramatically as you go higher in elevation. Try to stock up lower down and buy locally-produced products such as fruit, biscuits etc. Maps are easy to find in Nepal. For the more difficult treks involving mountaineering, crampons and ice axes may be required. Simpler types of crampons, which attach to the shoe using a rubber ring, are easily obtainable in the Thamel neighborhood. These are variously known as spikes, micro spikes and chains.
