Relatively new and remote trails, the Humla Limi Valley Trek is the best cultural trek into the untouched part of Nepal. The sheer beauty of nature, added with the cheerful hospitality of ethnic people living in the remote villages, the simplicity, and purity of people living in these areas shall not let you escape an astonishing captivation. You can also witness shamanistic practices and Buddhist culture during your trek. You shall be made through the ancient trail made by the traders crossing several passes and rugged routes. Another interesting part of this trek is that only a limited number of trekkers are given a permit to trek in this region every year. 
Humla Limi Valley trek is famous for its splendid mountain’s views of Mt. Saipal, Api, Byas, Rishi, Kanti, and Kanjirowa, including the sacred mountain, Mt. Kailash in the Tibetan side. On the way to Humla Limi Valley trek, you can witness several fields, pastures, crossing streams, rivers, waterfalls, ethnic villages, and ravines which make your trek one of the best treks in your life. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,345m)
Welcome to Nepal. Our representative shall take you from the airport to your hotel. After a while, you can do some shopping for your trek. We shall be sitting together in a short Debrief Session in the late afternoon, and then enjoy over the Welcome Dinner hosted by us in a popular restaurant of the town. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day2: Sightseeing at Kathmandu
Next morning after having breakfast, we will manage you to visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as; Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Boudhanath Stupa. In the evening, our representative will provide you short explanations class about the further trek. You will stay overnight at the same hotel.

Day 03: Flight to Nepalgunj (150m)
Nepalgunj is one of the popular places of southern region in Nepal. The hot and humid weather of Nepalgunj is obviously something different to experience. After breakfast in the morning, you shall make this journey taking you to the Terai region of Nepal. You can explore the city once you reach there. Stay overnight at Nepalgunj. 

Day 04: Flight to Simikot (2,950m)
This is yet another flight you shall make in this trek. From the hot and humid temperature of Nepalgunj, you shall fly to Simikot, a popular place in the hilly region, via a 45-minute flight.  Simikot is the district headquater of Humla District. Stay overnight at Simikot. 

Day 05: Trek to Dharapuri (2,300m)
Before crossing the pass at an altitude of 3000m, you shall walk for an hour, and then, you shall descend down for another hour reaching to the Majgaon Village. This village is inhabited by Hindus and Buddhists. Descending further through the lush green trail, trekking for some hours takes you to Dharapuri Village. Stay overnight at Dharapuri Village. 

Day 06: Trek to Kermi (2,670m)
This is a relatively short trip to Kermi, reaching where shall take about 3 hours from Dharapuri. You shall explore the Dharapuri Village well before marching towards the Kermi Village. Witnessing the terraced fields of buckheat, barley, and potates, walking alongside the Karnali River, you shall arrive at Kermi Village. Kermi is popular for Choeling Gompa and Laikyo Gompa. Stay overnight at Kermi. 

Day 07: Trek to Yalbang (3,020m)
Trekking for a couple of hours takes you to the Sali River. Crossing the river, you shall make through the forest full with pines, walking on a cliff, overlooking the Karnali River down-below. Walking for 4 hours takes you to the Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery. Trekking for a quarter to one hour takes you to Yalbang. Stay overnight at Yalbang.

Day 08: Trek to Muchu (3,120m)
Leaving the Karnali River, Yangar Village, you shall make through rock carved path. Today, you will ascend to experience how the landscape turns into more rocky structure, with large pine trees and small shrubs. Trekking for some 4 hours more takes you to Muchu Village. Muchu is the home to Dhungkar Choezom Monastery. Stay overnight at Muchu. 

Day 09: Trek to Yari (3,700m)
Initially, you shall climb uphill, over the rocky landscape. You shall notice desolate places and very few vegetation. You shall enjoy your lunch at Palwang Village. Trekking for a couple of hours more takes you to the Yari Village. If you don’t like spending here, and want to trek more, trekking for an hour takes you to the Thado Dunga. Stay overnight at Yari. 

Day 10: Trek to Hilsa (3,700m) via Nara La Pass (4,620m)
Today is the day you shall cross the Nara La. From Thado Dhunga, the trail ahead demands more as you have to make through steeply route. Climbing for a couple of hours take you to the Nara La Pass. The top of the pass offers you some of the most amazing view experiences you ever had. Then, you shall descend down to Hilsa. Stay overnight at Hilsa.

Day 11: Trek to Manepeme (3,990m)
Leaving the Hilsa Village, you shall cross a large iron bridge, you shall make through a difficult trail arriving at a larger trail on the steep. Making few ups and downs on the rugged route, through landscape of bare rocks, you shall arrive at a small flat area for camping, which shall be your today’s destination. Stay overnight at Manepeme.

Day 12: Trek to Til (4,000m)
Leaving Manepeme, you shall pass through Ya Yip Phuk Cave in a couple of hours. Making through the rocky and lush green trail is certainly quite a trekking. Once you reach at the top of the Lamka La Pass, you shall be able to see the Till Village with its monasteries. Making downhill for an hour and half takes you through the Chorten Gate, the entrance of Til Village. Stay overnight at Til Village. 

Day 13: Trek to Halji (3,660m)
Walking alongside the Limi River, witness the lush green vegetation and some wild animals, you shall reach to Halji. Halji boasts the location of Richening Gompa, which is the main attraction of Limi Valley. This monastery holds great religious and spiritual importance. This is quite a day with wildlife, natural beauty, and spiritual importance that awaits you at the end of the day. Stay overnight at Halji. 

Day 14: Trek to Jang (3,930m)
Trekking alongside the Limi River, you shall reach to Jang River in 4 hours. Jang is considered the last village in the Limi Valley. Jang is the also the place where you shall find that the people here are highly influenced by Tibetan culture. This is one of the less influenced and relatively one of the untouched places in the Limi Valley. Stay overnight at Jang. 

Day 15: Trek to Talung (4,370m)
Today is the day you shall bade farewell to the Limi Valley. You shall not find any settlement until you reach Kermi, this is why you shall be trekking through the isolated regions. Since the trail is windy, you are required to walk slowly. Trekking for 4 hours takes you to Talung. Stay overnight at Talung. 

Day 16: Trek to Shinjungma (3,620m) via Nyalu La Pass (4,949m)
This is another pass, the Nyalu La Pass that you have to climb to before making to Shinjungma Village. Depending upon the season you are trekking, you might have to make through icy section. The top offers one of the most memorable view of Tibet and Humla, also offering you the magnificent view of Mt. Kailash and Mt. Saipal. You shall then descend down to Shinjungma. Stay overnight at Shinjungma. 

Day 17: Trek to Kermi (2,670m)
This is the first time in your last week that you shall be trekking below 3000m. You shall be making through birch and pine forests, walking alongside the Sali River. Then, you shall cross the Karnali River, trekking further takes you to the Kermi Village. Kermi boasts the location of hot springs, you shall fancy dipping your exhausted body in the hot spring there. Stay overnight at Kermi. 

Day 18: Trek to Simikot (2,950m)
The first half shall be amazing and comfortable walk. After the Majgaon Village, you shall ascend for 2 hours to cross a pass of 3000m altitude. Trekking downhill for half an hour, you shall arrive at Simikot. This marks the end of your practical trekking however, you still have a couple of days more to complete the package. Stay overnight at Simikot.

Day 19: Flight to Simikot (2,950m)-Nepalgunj-Kathmandu
After breakfast in the morning, you shall fly to Nepalgunj, and fly again back to Kathmandu the very same day. Our representative shall take you to your hotel after your arrival in Kathmandu. Once you reach the hotel, you might fancy a long rest that your body deserves. Stay overnight at Kathmandu. 

Day 20: At Kathmandu (1,345m)
In this day, you can do rest and relax in the hotel. You can do some shopping for your return journey. We shall be sharing our trekking experience over Farewell Dinner. Stay your last night at Kathmandu.

Day 21: Final Departure
Our representative shall drop you at the airport within sufficient time before your departure flight. Once they reach there, they shall bid farewell and part away from the airport. Have a safe and happy journey back to your home country.

Trekking equipments
The main essentials to bring are:
  • Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots, flip-flops
  • Sleeping bag (depending on your accommodation) and -20 degree Celsius for colder regions
  • Daypack, trekking bag pack, dry sack and camera bag
  • Few changes of clothes for the varying temperatures
  • For cold weather, hiking pants, thermals, gloves, neck warmer/scarf, beanie, a warm inner jacket and a windproof / waterproof outer jacket and down jacket are essential.
  • Water purification supplies, a reusable water bottle and a camelback water bladder
  • Sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses, moisturizing skin cream and lip balm
  • Few snacks, granola bars
  • Hiking stick or two
  • Waterproof case, fabric bandages such as moleskin, a headlamp, altitude sickness and other medication
  • Camera and binoculars.
  • Hand sanitizers, toilet paper, band-aids, wet wipes
  • Extra batteries (solar chargers recommended)
On the popular trekking routes, everyday supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, chocolate bars, and even basic hiking supplies can be purchased along the way, though prices rise dramatically as you go higher in elevation. Try to stock up lower down and buy locally-produced products such as fruit, biscuits etc. Maps are easy to find in Nepal. For the more difficult treks involving mountaineering, crampons and ice axes may be required. Simpler types of crampons, which attach to the shoe using a rubber ring, are easily obtainable in the Thamel neighborhood. These are variously known as spikes, micro spikes and chains.
