Tamang Heritage Trek covers the major settlements of Tamang community in the Langtang/Helambu region. This trek might not totally align with the regular Langtang Valley trek. You get the best opportunity to have a close-up view of the everyday lives of Tamang communities, their lifestyle, their culture, their tradition, and religious practices. Throughout the trek, you shall get opportunities to be amazed by the Ganesh Himal and Langtang range. As you dissolve more with the Tamang community, you shall find how close they resemble to the Tibetan culture across the north. You shall enjoy the natural hot springs in Tatopani, the visits to various monasteries, and the beautiful landscape.
You do not require any athletic body fitness to complete this trek. A moderate level of fitness, the body capable to endure long duration of walking and free from any ankle and knee related problems is sufficient to make this trek. Your trek shall start from the Syabrubesi, and via Gatlang, Tatopani, Brimdang, Briddim, Lama Hotel, you reach to Langtang Village. Through Kyangjin Gompa, Lama Hotel, you shall return back to Kathmandu.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m)

Day 3: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550 m)

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m)
Our representative shall receive you at the airport and take you to your hotel. After you take your rest, you can do shopping for the trek. We shall organize a short Debrief Session of the trek in the late afternoon, and later, enjoy the Welcome Dinner at a popular restaurant in the town. Stay overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Sightseeing at Kathmandu.
In this day, early morning after having breakfast, we will manage you to visit UNESCO World Heritage sites such as; Pashupatinath temple, Syambhunath, Boudhanath Stupa, and Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, we will prepare all the essential things for the next day trek. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550 m)
It takes about 7-8 hours to reach Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. Syabrubesi is also the starting place for other trekking packages in Langtang/Helambu region. Enjoying the beautiful shops installed beside the highway, the beautiful villages scattered over the hills, and you shall reach all the way to Syabrubesi. Stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 4: Trek to Gatlang (2,200 m)
Passing through the Goijung Village, enjoying the majestic views of Mt. Shishapangma, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, etc., you shall trek via dense forests, cross rivers, and arrive at today's destination—Gatlang. This village has traditional style stone houses. Stay overnight at Gatlang.

Day 5: Trek to Tatopani (2,607 m)
Descending to Thangbuche, after a while, you shall pass the dam of Chilime Hydropower, and make the ascent to Tatopani. Throughout the trek, the views of Langtang ranges and Ganesh Himal won't leave you. This place offers you the natural hot springs. Stay overnight at Tatopani.

Day 6: Trek to Nagthali
In this day, after early breakfast, we will continue our trek towards Nagthali, which is situated at the elevation of 3165m. Nagthali also offers us various wildlife like monkeys and deer to encounter with during our trek to Nagthali. Also, we will get an opportunity to view the magnificent Himalayas such as; Mt. Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Hima and Sanjen ranges. Stay overnight at Nagthali.

Day 7: Trek toTharuche for viewpoint- to Thuman
As the morning sun rises, we will have breakfast and continue our trek. Today, we need to trek mostly steep and ascend and descend. During our trek, we will also get chances to encounter with the people. Thuman is a famous cultural village from where we can also have a panoramic view of Langtang below and the majestic Himalayas. Stay overnight at Thuman.
  
Day 8: Trek to Briddim (2,345 m)
Via Lingling, you shall reach Briddim. Located below the Langtang Himal, it is a Buddhist village influenced by Tibetan culture. You shall visit Dukchu Gomba in this beautiful village where most of the houses are built using stones. Few moments at Briddim can give you a miniature view of settlements at Tibetan side. Stay overnight at Briddim.

Day 9: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,470 m)
Descending down to Ghopche Khola, you shall then ascend via Rimche to Lama Hotel. This place is surrounded by dense green forests, under the surrounding mountains. You shall pass through several villages, and a few rivers before reaching the Lama Hotel. Stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 10: Trek to Langtang Village (3,430 m)
Trekking along the lush forest, you shall ascend through the valley, witnessing the majestic Langtang Lirung. Passing the water mills, Chortens, and prayer wheels, you arrive at the Langtang Village. Explore the village for a while before taking your rest. Stay overnight at Langtang Village.

Day 11: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870 m)
Next morning after breakfast, you shall trek through meadows and yak pastures, and cross the Mani Wall—the largest in the country. Crossing quite a number of bridges, you shall arrive at Kanjin Gompa. This place is enveloped by staggering mountain vistas. Stroll around the place and enjoy the views of yaks, birds, glaciers, and icefalls. Stay overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 12:  rest day at Kyangjin Gompa- trek to Tsergo Ri viewpoint abd back to Kyangjuin.
Today is the rest day at Kyangjin Gompa. After short rest, you will stroll around the Valley and explore the valley and riverbeds around Kyanjin Gompa. if you want to short trek then you can make the short hike to the top of Tsergo Ri at 4,884m or 19,600 feet altitude. As you reach to Tsergo Ri, you will explore the Valley and return back to the Kyanjin Gompa with some of the most stunning Himalaya Mountain photos. Overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 13: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m)
Most of the journey today is descending; you shall reach to Lama Hotel from Kyangjin Gompa within 4 hours. You shall descend via dense forests full with rhododendrons, beside the mountain stream. Passing through various ethnic settlements inhabited by Tamang community, you shall reach Lama Hotel. Stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 14: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2210m)
In this day you will trek to Thulo Syabru, which is situated at the altitude of 2210m. Today you need to make gently descending trail along the villages, and terraces with the magnificent views of surrounding hills. Stay overnight at Thulo Syabru. Next morning after breakfast, you shall walk through the dense green forest to Syabrubesi. The trail is easy, with no difficult landscape. It will take you about 5 hours to reach today's destination from Lama Hotel. Enjoy your last day with local guides at Syabrubesi. Stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 15: Trek to Dhunche (2030m)
In this day, we will have a breakfast and leave the beautiful village Thulo Syabru (2210m) and continue our trekking trail ascend up to Barbel village and Braccaka village with the stunning views of Ganesh mountain. The Further trek will follow through the forest along the Tirsuli river and finally, reach to Dhunche. Overnight at Dhunche.

Day 16: Drive to Kathmandu (1,320 m)
It takes you about 7 hours to reach Kathmandu. Witnessing the small shop stalls beside the highway, witnessing the fading away views of mountains, terraced fields, you shall reach Kathmandu, in the evening you will wnjoy the Farewell Dinner. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure
After you pack your bag and luggage, our representative shall receive you from the hotel and take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport within sufficient time before your departure flight. Trekking equipments
The main essentials to bring are:
  • Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots, flip-flops
  • Sleeping bag (depending on your accommodation) and -20 degree Celsius for colder regions
  • Daypack, trekking bag pack, dry sack and camera bag
  • Few changes of clothes for the varying temperatures
  • For cold weather, hiking pants, thermals, gloves, neck warmer/scarf, beanie, a warm inner jacket and a windproof / waterproof outer jacket and down jacket are essential.
  • Water purification supplies, a reusable water bottle and a camelback water bladder
  • Sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses, moisturizing skin cream and lip balm
  • Few snacks, granola bars
  • Hiking stick or two
  • Waterproof case, fabric bandages such as moleskin, a headlamp, altitude sickness and other medication
  • Camera and binoculars.
  • Hand sanitizers, toilet paper, band-aids, wet wipes
  • Extra batteries (solar chargers recommended)
On the popular trekking routes, everyday supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, chocolate bars, and even basic hiking supplies can be purchased along the way, though prices rise dramatically as you go higher in elevation. Try to stock up lower down and buy locally-produced products such as fruit, biscuits etc. Maps are easy to find in Nepal. For the more difficult treks involving mountaineering, crampons and ice axes may be required. Simpler types of crampons, which attach to the shoe using a rubber ring, are easily obtainable in the Thamel neighborhood. These are variously known as spikes, micro spikes and chains.
