Langtang Valley trek is also called glacier trek, is one of the most fascinating treks, located close to the Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.  It is one of the beautiful treks that explore the Langtang Valley to Kyangjin Gompa and unravel the magic of the Himalayas and its people, which is really amazing parts of this trek. Langtang Valley trek is dominated by Mountain Langtang Lirung and offers you the best views of snowcapped mountains, pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, meadows and grassy lawn and glaciers. Located only 19 miles away from the Kathmandu valley, you can reach to the Langtang region within few hours of drive. Pine forest, snow-capped mountains, and Mt. Langtang Lirung surround the Langtang valley. The wilderness of Langtang valley gives you the most staggering thrill you can rarely get from any other trekking package. Passing through the Mani Walls and Chortens, villages inhabited by Tamang, Sherpa and Tibetan tribes, a dense forest full of oaks, is really awe-inspiring. 

The Langtang valley trek starts from Syarbubesi, and via Lama Hotel, reaches the Langtang Village. Passing Mundu, the trek shall halt at Kyangjin Gompa for an extra day for acclimatization. From there, you shall retrace your steps to Lama Hotel, Syabrubesi, and arrive at Kathmandu via a drive.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m)
Welcome to Nepal. Our representative shall receive you from the Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel. After you rest and freshen up, you might want to go shopping the trekking gears. After a short Debrief Session in the late afternoon, we shall be sitting together in the Welcome Dinner enjoying the delicacies of Nepalese dishes. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Next morning after having breakfast, we will manage you to visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as; Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the evening, our representative will provide you with short explanations class about the further trek. You will stay overnight at the same hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Dhumche (2,030 m)
Today, early morning we will have breakfast and begin our journey to Dhumche, situated at the altitude of 2030m. Around 2 hours you need to drive a rough way due to the earthquake and further drive will lead us to Dhumche. We will stay overnight at Dhumche.

Day 4: Trek Thulo Syabru (2260m)
In this day after early breakfast, we will leave Dhumche and continue trek by following the beautiful rhododendron forest with the majestic Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and many more. The further trek will lead us to the Thulo Syabru, which is situated at the altitude of 2260m. 

Day 5: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m)
Trekking beside the Langtang Khola, you shall make several ascends and descends through the trail engulfed with rhododendron and oak forests. You shall reach Lama Hotel after crossing the Langtang Khola via a bridge and making you ascend uphill. Stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 6: Trek to Langtang Village-Mundu (443 m)
Passing Ghoda Tabela, the trek offers you the majestic views of mountains of Langtang range. You shall ascend uphill as the valley becomes more clear and close. You shall also pass several temporary settlements established by herders, passing through a Buddhist monastery you shall arrive at Langtang. You shall not stay at the village for much time, rather, after some exploration, you shall continue your trek towards Mundu. Stay overnight at Mundu.

Day 7: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870 m)
Passing several prayer wheels, Chortens, watermills, carved rocks, you shall arrive at the largest Mani Wall of the country. Continuing the trek, you shall arrive at Kyangjin Gompa. You shall visit the Buddhist shrine and nearby areas at Gompa. Stay overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 8: At Kyangjin Gompa (3,870 m)
Early in the morning, you shall trek towards Tserko Ri (5,000 m) via meadows and yak pastures. Tserko Ri offers the spectacular views of sunrise, and probably you might be engulfed with a sharp inclination to this phenomenal moment. After a while, you shall return back to Kyangjin Gompa to spend the night.

Day 9: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m)
 After breakfast in the morning, you shall retrace your steps back to Lama Hotel. Passing through Tamang villages, you shall descend downhill via dense forest full of rhododendrons. Descending also offers you spectacular views of mountain vistas that you might have missed during your ascent. Stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 10: Trek to Syabrubesi (1,550 m)
You shall retrace your steps from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi. Most part of the trek involves comfortable descent. Passing through several settlements, the dense forest full with rhododendron and pines, you shall arrive at Syabrubesi. Stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu (1,320 m)
This is a long hour drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu. Witnessing the amazing views of settlements scattered over hills, small shops beside the highway, you shall reach to the Kathmandu valley. You might want to take a long rest after your arrival here, in the evening you well enjoy the Farewell Dinner. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 12: Final Departure
After you are ready with your bags and luggage, our representative shall take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport within sufficient time before your departure flight. We shall bid our goodbyes and farewell, and part away from the airport. Have a safe and happy journey back to your country.

Trekking equipments
The main essentials to bring are:
  • Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots, flip-flops
  • Sleeping bag (depending on your accommodation) and -20 degree Celsius for colder regions
  • Daypack, trekking bag pack, dry sack and camera bag
  • Few changes of clothes for the varying temperatures
  • For cold weather, hiking pants, thermals, gloves, neck warmer/scarf, beanie, a warm inner jacket and a windproof / waterproof outer jacket and down jacket are essential.
  • Water purification supplies, a reusable water bottle and a camelback water bladder
  • Sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses, moisturizing skin cream and lip balm
  • Few snacks, granola bars
  • Hiking stick or two
  • Waterproof case, fabric bandages such as moleskin, a headlamp, altitude sickness and other medication
  • Camera and binoculars.
  • Hand sanitizers, toilet paper, band-aids, wet wipes
  • Extra batteries (solar chargers recommended)
On the popular trekking routes, everyday supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, chocolate bars, and even basic hiking supplies can be purchased along the way, though prices rise dramatically as you go higher in elevation. Try to stock up lower down and buy locally-produced products such as fruit, biscuits etc. Maps are easy to find in Nepal. For the more difficult treks involving mountaineering, crampons and ice axes may be required. Simpler types of crampons, which attach to the shoe using a rubber ring, are easily obtainable in the Thamel neighborhood. These are variously known as spikes, micro spikes and chains.
