This extraordinary Rara Lake trek is one of the easiest trek on offbeat trail of Nepal which comprises the standing out beauty of nature and the culture which brings you to the untouched region of Nepal and allow you to explore the nomadic lifestyle.  This fascinating adventure trek offers you to witness so many beautiful stuffs through the isolated mountainous hamlets and extreme wilderness of sub-tropical woodlands. Beside this, the Rara Lake trek also let you to visit Rara National park, a smallest park in Nepal which is situated around 370km northwest of Kathmandu in the mountainous Mogu district of western Nepal. In this National Park, you will get an opportunity to encounter with wildlife such as; Himalayan black bear, musk deer and other several birds species; Impeyan (national birds of Nepal), Pheasants, doves, Kalij and so on. Not only that, you will also get chances to have a great view of the deep blue clear lake, gorgeous snowcapped peaks and the surrounding wooded hillside from an elevation of 4087m at Chuchemara Dauda. You will also witness more than 500 varieties of beautiful flowers and herbs in the National Park.
The Rara trek will begins after flying to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu and we will take a connecting flight to Jumla. Then officially we will begin our trek from Jumla, a regional headquarter of Karnali zone and visit Rara Lake and finally return back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
As you will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will receive you and drop you to one of the best hotels in the Kathmandu Valley, where you will rest and relax. In the evening, our representative guide will provide you orientations class about the trek and you can also enjoy welcome dinner with ours team. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing: World Heritage Sites
Next morning, after having breakfast, officially we will begin our trek by exploring different religious and historical places that are enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage site. You will visit one of the famous Pashupatinath Temple which is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines across the world, Syambhunath temple is known as monkey temple, Boudhanath stupas, Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight at hotel.
 
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (150m/490 ft): 1 hour
Today, after early breakfast, we will take an air-flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Around 40 minutes scenic flight takes you to beautiful city Nepalgunj, near a Indian border. In the evening, you will stroll around and visit mini-zoo a lively market of Nepalgunj along with nearby settlements. You will stay overnight at Nepalgunj.

Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla (2,540m/8,334ft): 20 minutes
Today, early morning after having breakfast, you will take an air flight to Jumla from Nepalgunj. Around 45 minutes scenic flight offers you a magnificent aerial view of Sisne Himal, Dudu Kundari Himal, and so many other peaks. After arriving at Jumla, we will do some rest in the hotel. After some rest, we will explore the village of Jumla.You will stay overnight at Jumla.
 
Day 05: Trek from Jumla to Chere Chaur (3055m/10,023ft)
In this day, after early breakfast, we will officially begin our trek from Jumla and heads towards Chere Chaur, situated at the summit of 3055m.Today we need to ascend to Chere Chaur along with the Jugad Khola. During the way, we will follow the vibrant Khalanga Bazzar, nearby villages. We also explore the couple of villages and a famous temple before reaching our destination. Overnight in Chere Chaur.

Day 06: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m/9,777ft)
As morning rises, we will take a breakfast and continue our genital trail towards ChalaChaur, at the summit of 2980m. Today we begin ascending up slowly from Chere Chaur and reach to the Jaljala pass (3580m). After crossing the pass and continue trek through the Jaljala Chaur and ascend steeply and reach to ChalaChaur. Overnight at Chalachaur.

Day 07: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m/ft)
In this day, after early breakfast, we will climb up to Sinja Valley, which is situated at an elevation of 2490m. During the way, you will pass several villages and trek through the beautiful Jaljala Khola (stream). Overnight in Sinja Valley.

Day 08: Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m/10007ft)
After early breakfast, we will also continue our pleasing trek uphill alongside Himal River. We steeply climb up up to Laha Village. From Laha village, we need to make steep climb up trail until we reach to Ghorosingha alongside Ghatte Khola (stream). Overnight in Ghorosingha.

Day 09: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m/9876ft)
In this day, after early breakfast, we will begin our steep ascend trek alongside Chuchhemara Danda. Chuhhemara Danda is famous for magnificent views of Himalayan landscape, the vast and tranquil Rara Lake, and the lush vegetation of the Rara National Park. The way to Rara Lake, we need to pass Khatyar Khola Camp and some villages including Murma and finally, reach to the Chapri village, situated the Rara National Park Head Quarter. Overnight at Rara Lake.

Day 10: Explore Rara Lake
Today, early in the morning after having breakfast, you can explore the Rara Lake, the largest Lake in Nepal. This beautiful Lake has a deep freshwater and situated at the altitude of 2990m. The surface of this amazing Rara Lake is around 8 square Kilometer which is also considered as a unique spot in Nepal. The Lake is situated in the National Park which offers you to visit different flora and fauna such as; various bird species, rhododendron flowers, wildlife; Himalayan bears, Red Panda and musk deer and so on. You can also have an experience of remoteness and a wilderness in the Rara Lake. We will stay overnight at Rara Lake.
 
Day 11: Rara Lake to Pina (2440m/ 8006ft)
In this day, after early breakfast, we will continue our trail with an easy and relatively straight way to Gamgadhi, the headquarters of the Mugu District of Nepal. The Further trail from Gamgadhi, we will descend on a steep trail to beautiful Pina Village. Overnight at Pina.

Day 12: Pina to Bumra (2850m/9351ft)
After next day morning breakfast, we will descend down and cross the beautiful Ghurchi Lagna pass at 3480 m. The further descend will follow some of the native villages and reach to Bumra, known as Nauri Ghat. Overnight at Burma.

Day 13: Trek ends: Bumra to Jumla (2540m/8334ft)
In this day, after morning breakfast, we will head back towards Jumla from Bumra. We will trek through Himal river and cross two suspension bridges above Hima River and walk downhill. Further few hours walk take us to the hot spring where we can bath release our skin disease and cross Danphe Lagna pass at 3691 m and reach to Chere Chaur. By following Chere Chaur, we will reach Jumla. Overnight in Jumla.

Day 14: Fly to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu
This is your final day of Rara Trek. Today you will take a back flight from Jumla to Nepalgunj and after that, you will take a connecting flight to Kathmandu with the beautiful memories of the adventurous trek. After you reach in the Kathmandu we will have a farewell dinner in Nepali restaurant which represent Nepali culture.
 
Day 15: Kathmandu rest day and enjoy farewell dinner
Today, we travel the entire city of Kathmandu and explore different religious and cultural heritages including Pashupatinath Temple, Sowanbhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and others. In the evening, we’ll enjoy the farewell party with different Nepali dishes. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 16: Final departure
 Today is your last day in Nepal. Our representative will help you to find your final destination.
 
Trekking equipments
The main essentials to bring are:
  • Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots, flip-flops
  • Sleeping bag (depending on your accommodation) and -20 degree Celsius for colder regions
  • Daypack, trekking bag pack, dry sack and camera bag
  • Few changes of clothes for the varying temperatures
  • For cold weather, hiking pants, thermals, gloves, neck warmer/scarf, beanie, a warm inner jacket and a windproof / waterproof outer jacket and down jacket are essential.
  • Water purification supplies, a reusable water bottle and a camelback water bladder
  • Sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses, moisturizing skin cream and lip balm
  • Few snacks, granola bars
  • Hiking stick or two
  • Waterproof case, fabric bandages such as moleskin, a headlamp, altitude sickness and other medication
  • Camera and binoculars.
  • Hand sanitizers, toilet paper, band-aids, wet wipes
  • Extra batteries (solar chargers recommended)
On the popular trekking routes, everyday supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, chocolate bars, and even basic hiking supplies can be purchased along the way, though prices rise dramatically as you go higher in elevation. Try to stock up lower down and buy locally-produced products such as fruit, biscuits etc. Maps are easy to find in Nepal. For the more difficult treks involving mountaineering, crampons and ice axes may be required. Simpler types of crampons, which attach to the shoe using a rubber ring, are easily obtainable in the Thamel neighborhood. These are variously known as spikes, micro spikes and chains.
