Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek is one of the most adventurous as well as cultural treks in the Langtang region. Gosaikunda and Helambu is a conservative area filled with lush green forests, glacial lakes, staggering views of mountains, majestic waterfalls, snow-capped Himalayan scenery, cultural attachment during the trek, and spiritual touch make this trekking one of the best trekking destination. The Helambu trek start from Sundarijal after an hour drive from Kathmandu, allow you to enter Shivapuri National Park, where you will discover wildlife and beautiful forest with verities of the trees and Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati, and Sermathang. Apart from this, you will view mountain forests with great Himalayans along with beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries. Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek start from Syabrubesi. Via Lama Hotel your will reach to the Langtang Village, and then to Mundu. After reaching Kyangjin Gompa, you will spend an additional day ascending the peak—Tserko Ri (5,000 m) and return back to Kyangjin Gompa; the highest point throughout the trek. Returning back to Lama Hotel, via Thulo Syabru, Shin Gompa, and arrived at the sacred place—Gosainkunda. Via Ghopte, Melamchi Gaon, Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, Melamchi Bazar, you will return back to Kathmandu through a drive from the Melamchi Bazar.

KDay 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m)
Our representative will receive you at the airport at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International and drop you to your hotel, where you can take a rest and freshen up. In the evening, you can do some shopping and buy some essential things for the next day trek. In the evening, you can enjoy welcome dinner in the Nepali restaurant. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
As morning rises, after early breakfast, we will manage you to visit major world heritage sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred site for Hindu and Buddhist. Syambhunath temple famous for sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley, Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square, and largest Boudhanath Stupa through the world. In the evening, you need to be well prepared for the next day trek. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550 m)
Today, after early breakfast, we will head towards Syabrubesi. Around 7-hour drive from Kathmandu take us to Syabrubesi. During the journey, you can witness the beautiful villages, terraced hills, blurry views of mountains and you will reach to Syabrubesi. Stay overnight at Syabrubesi.

Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m)
Today, we will trek alongside the Langtang Khola, and continue to trek through the dense forest of rhododendron and oak and make several ascents and descents. You will cross the Langtang Khola through a bridge again we will ascend uphill until we reach to Lama Hotel. Stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 5: Trek to Langtang Village-Mundu (3,543 m)
Today, after having breakfast, we will continue our trek towards Mundu, situated at the altitude of 3543m. During our trail, we can have some spectacular views of Langtang range as we leave Ghoda Tabela. Then we will trek uphill by passing the number of temporary settlements of herders and reach to the Langtang Village through passing ancient Buddhist monastery. After exploring the valley, you will head towards Mundu. Stay overnight at Mundu.

Day 6: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870 m)
In this day, after having breakfast, our trail will head towards Kyangjin Gompa through following largest Mani Wall, Prayer Wheels, watermills, Chortens, and carved rocks. The further trail will lead us to Kyangjin Gompa. At Kyanjing Gompa you will explore the near regions and the Buddhist shrine. Stay overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.
 
Day 7: At Kyangjin Gompa-Tserko Ri (5,000 m)
As morning rises, we will begin our trek ascending through the yak pastures and meadows and reach to the Tserko Ri. The top of the Tserko Ri offers you the staggering view of mountains, valleys, rivers, and lush green vegetation. After spending some time exploring around and we will descend down to Kyangjin Gompa. Stay overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.

Day 8: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m)
The next morning, you will return back to Lama Hotel via the same route you had made from the hotel. You will pass through several villages, especially inhabited by Tamang community, and through rhododendron forest. This journey offers you the views you had missed during your ascent. Stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 9: Trek to Thulo Syabru(2,230 m)
After breakfast in the morning, you will head towards Thulo Syabru. Climbing uphill to Rimche Village, you will descend down to the Langtang Khola. By easy walk, you will reach to the Bamboo Village, and through an ascent, you will pass the Landslide Lodge. Crossing the bridge, alongside the Pahare Hotel, you will trek near the waterfall, and you will arrive at Thulo Syabru. Overnight at Thulo Syabru.

Day 10: Trek to Shin Gompa (3,330 m)
You will pass through the Chorten, and after having your permits checked at the checkpoint, you will head towards Garta Village through Passing the Phulung Monastery ultimately you will arrive at the Gompa. The initial climb can be quite strenuous until you will cross the Dimsa village. Spend overnight at Shin Gompa.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda (4,460 m)
After breakfast in the morning, you will continue our trek witnessing the staggering views of Mt. Annapurna, Langtang, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal. Trekking over the ridge, passing through the high villages, you will arrive at Gosainkunda. This place holds religious importance to Hindus and Buddhists. Stay overnight at this beautiful sacred place.

Day 12: Trek to Ghopte (3,530 m)
After having breakfast, we will continue our trek by ascending up by the Laurebina Pass and enter into the Helambu region. You will make through moraines, steeply uphill, and cross three lakes before you will arrive at Phedi. As you descend and arrive at Phedi, trekking through several ups and downs through the dense forest, you will arrive at Ghopte. Stay overnight at Ghopte.

Day 13: Trek to Melamchi Gaon (2,530 m)
After having morning breakfast, we will head our trail towards Melamchi Gaon, situated at the elevation of 2530m. During our ups and downs trail, we will follow the There Pati Village, and the dense the ridge, cross several suspension bridges and finally reach the amazing village named Melamchi Gaon. During our ascend trail, we will have the beautiful views of Jugal Himal. Spend overnight at Melamchi Gaon.

Day 14: Trek to Tarkeghyang(2,590 m)
After having breakfast, we will begin our trek towards Tarkeghyang, at the elevation of 2590m. we will descend down for a while and cross a suspension bridge. After you cross the river, you need to trek through the dense forest until you will reach Ama Yangri. The top of Ama Yangri offers you mighty views of Mt. Shishapangma and Langtang range. Passing beside the Chortens flapping in the Himalayan wind, you will reach to the Tarkeghyang village. Stay overnight at Tarkeghyang.

Day 15: Trek to Sermathang (2,610 m)
In this day, after having breakfast, we will continue our trek towards Sermathang through passing dense forest, several beautiful villages and some Chortens, Mani Walls, and finally reach to the Sermathang village. The exhaustion is rewarded by the spectacular views of Ganesh Himal, Jugal Himal, and sometimes also the Everest. Stay overnight at Sermathang.

Day 16: Trek to Melamchi Bazar (870 m) /Drive to Kathmandu
After having breakfast, initially, you will make an easy trek, and descent down through dense forests, several beautiful villages, meadows, and cultivable fields. As you arrive at Melamchi Bazar, you shall catch a vehicle and drive back to the capital city—Kathmandu. Our representative shall take you to your hotel, where you would love to take a long rest and erase your exhaustion, in the evening you will enjoy the Farewell Dinner. Stay overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure
Be ready with your bags and luggage; our representative shall receive you from the hotel and take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport within sufficient time before your departure flight. We shall bid our goodbyes and farewell and part away from the airport. Have a safe and happy journey back to your homeland.

Trekking equipments
The main essentials to bring are:
  • Sturdy and comfortable hiking boots, flip-flops
  • Sleeping bag (depending on your accommodation) and -20 degree Celsius for colder regions
  • Daypack, trekking bag pack, dry sack and camera bag
  • Few changes of clothes for the varying temperatures
  • For cold weather, hiking pants, thermals, gloves, neck warmer/scarf, beanie, a warm inner jacket and a windproof / waterproof outer jacket and down jacket are essential.
  • Water purification supplies, a reusable water bottle and a camelback water bladder
  • Sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses, moisturizing skin cream and lip balm
  • Few snacks, granola bars
  • Hiking stick or two
  • Waterproof case, fabric bandages such as moleskin, a headlamp, altitude sickness and other medication
  • Camera and binoculars.
  • Hand sanitizers, toilet paper, band-aids, wet wipes

On the popular trekking routes, everyday supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, chocolate bars, and even basic hiking supplies can be purchased along the way, though prices rise dramatically as you go higher in elevation. Try to stock up lower down and buy locally-produced products such as fruit, biscuits etc. Maps are easy to find in Nepal. For the more difficult treks involving mountaineering, crampons and ice axes may be required. Simpler types of crampons, which attach to the shoe using a rubber ring, are easily obtainable in the Thamel neighborhood. These are variously known as spikes, micro spikes and chains.
